MELBOURNE, Victoria - If a federal election were held today, the Australian Labor Party (ALP) would be re-elected with an increased majority, securing 53 percent of the vote, unchanged from the previous week. The Liberal-National Coalition holds 47 percent, also unchanged, according to the latest Roy Morgan survey.
The Roy Morgan Government Confidence Rating remains steady at 80.5, with 32 percent of Australians (a slight decrease of 0.5 percentage points) believing the country is 'heading in the right direction.' In contrast, 51.5 percent (down 1 percentage point) feel the nation is 'heading in the wrong direction.'
This week, primary support for both major parties declined.
