TOKYO, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- More than 10 people have been sent to hospital in Japan's western prefecture of Osaka this year after eating gummies potentially containing cannabis derivatives, the prefectural police said.
The Osaka Prefectural Police told reporters on Thursday, following such incidents in the country's capital Tokyo, that more than 10 people, mostly in their 20s to 30s, have been taken to hospital so far this year with mild symptoms such as vomiting and numbness.
The police are conducting tests to determine whether the gummies actually contained cannabis-linked substances.
According to the prefectural police's anti-narcotics division, four men in their 20s complained of vomiting and other symptoms after eating gummies in the city of Osaka in September. One of them said the gummies were bought from someone found on social media.
The police believe some or all of the ingested gummies were manufactured within the city of Osaka, warning people to be cautious and against buying such products.
