CANBERRA -- Australia's largest celebration of spring has opened its gates in the nation's capital.
The 36th Floriade festival officially opened at Canberra's Commonwealth Park on Saturday, inviting visitors to explore over 1 million flower blooms as well as entertainment, cultural celebrations and workshops. (Australia-Canberra-Floriade)

TOKYO -- The approval ratings for Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's new cabinet showed no significant signs of improvement following its reshuffle this week, according to opinion polls conducted by multiple Japanese media outlets.
National news agency Kyodo found in its latest poll that the reshuffle saw a limited impact on lifting popularity, although the cabinet's approval rating slightly edged up 6.2 percentage points from late August to 39.8 percent. (Japan-New Cabinet-Approval Ratings)

SEOUL -- Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), visited on Friday a major aviation plant upon his arrival in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, an industrial center in the Russian Far East, during his ongoing visit to the country, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Saturday.
During the visit to Yuri Gagarin Aviation Plant, Kim, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, got on a Su-57 fighter jet to hear a detailed explanation of its technical specifications and flight performance and watched flight demonstration of a Su-35 fighter jet.
