WUHAN, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The first leg of the X GAMES CHINA 2022 Skateboarding Ramp Tour ended in central China's Wuhan on Sunday, attracting 24 participants aged from four to 37 from home and abroad.
Hitting a 540, skateboarder Li Yingcai topped the event, while Li Zhixing and nine-year-old Zou Dongchen took silver and bronze medal respectively.
As June 21 marks Skateboarding Day, various activities, such as free skateboard teaching and Ollie maneuver challenges, were held to celebrate the festival and appeal to hundreds of local amateurs and spectators.
After the tour in Wuhan, the Skateboarding Ramp Tour in China will continue to Chongqing, Tianjin and Beijing, before the finals reach Shanghai, where skateboarders ranked within the top 20 in the standings will compete together.
Skateboarding, once regarded as a street and sub-cultural sport, made its Olympic debut in Tokyo 2020, and will be staged again at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
