NEW YORK, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Thursday as market trading was much lighter on the occasion of Thanksgiving holiday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, fell 0.09 percent at 96.7743 in late trading.
In late New York trading, the euro increased to 1.1209 dollars from 1.1199 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound decreased to 1.3321 dollars from 1.3323 U.S. dollars in the previous session. The Australian dollar fell to 0.7185 dollar from 0.7192 dollar.
The U.S. dollar bought 115.36 Japanese yen, lower than 115.43 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar increased to 0.9357 Swiss franc from 0.9341 Swiss franc, and it was down to 1.2648 Canadian dollars from 1.2671 Canadian dollars.
