Japan's Chubu signs up for Wheatstone LNG

Japan's Chubu Electric Power Company has inked a non-binding deal with Chevron to buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the US energy giant's Wheatstone project. Chevron and joint venture partner Apache Corporation saidlate yesterday Chubu was expected to receive one million tonnes per annum of LNG from the project, near Onslow in Western Australia, for a period of up to 20 years.
